Mad Hatter - November 2014

In the spirit of the legendary Mad Hatter art exhibitions organized the by Arts Council of the Central Okanagan for the past three years, Beyond the Invisible will present the work of over 30 local artists over the course of three days in the BC Tree Fruits Packing House. Jennifer Lauriault, Chair of the Mad Hatter Committee, explains “This year’s Beyond the Invisible is so special because of the location. The BC Tree Fruits Packing House has such deep ties with the community. The fruit packing industry has touched everyone here at some point and now the neighbourhood is changing – this is the last chance to see the space in its original form. Even more amazing is the way the artists have responded to the space and the history it represents, creating surreal, immersive works that are inspired by this heritage. It will truly be an event to remember.”

Night of 1000 Lights- Sept 2014 at the Artisan House on Lawrence Ave

A Night of a Thousand Lights was held on September 25, 26, and 27, 2014 at the Kelowna Artisan House on Lawrence Avenue. This unique exhibition was open to the young and old with a perfect yet complex correlation between engineering and art, structure and chaos. Guests were invited to navigate a maze of creations that lead through different worlds of emotion. Everyone left with an illusion of light, a wonder of creation, and a revived connection to their community. It was said that A Night of a Thousand Lights set an in-road for future artistic events in Kelowna.
